Driver requirements.
What you need before your first trip. Requirements vary by state, so the app confirms exactly what applies where you drive.
You
Age
At least 21 years old.
Licence
A current full Australian driver licence, held for at least 12 months.
Right to work
Proof of your right to work in Australia.
Background check
A national police check and driving history check.
Smartphone
A phone that runs the current Booma Driver app.
Transport network requirements
To drive with Booma, you must meet the commercial passenger transport requirements applicable to your location and be currently registered with, or operating through, an appropriately authorised Booking Service Provider or transport network, such as an existing rideshare or taxi provider. Booma does not act as your Booking Service Provider.
Your vehicle
Age and condition
Roadworthy, no cosmetic damage, and within your state vehicle age limit.
Doors and seats
Four doors and at least four passenger seatbelts.
Registration
Current registration in the name of the owner listed on your account.
Insurance
Comprehensive or third party insurance that covers commercial passenger use.
Documents
Upload the required documents for your location.
How onboarding works
Create your account in the Booma Driver app, upload the required documents for your location, and we verify them. Get approved quickly once your required documents are complete.
You keep control of your hours. There is no shift roster, no minimum trips, and you see trip information upfront before you accept.
